About halfway through the shoot, tomorrow is the day off! 🎉
The shooting took indoors today. It was probably the most comfortable day in the past weeks. Finally got somewhere to cool off and not working in the sun.
Today’s scene, we managed to capture some brilliant shots thanks to the team work of Director Yun, Cinematographer T and Gaffer Su Mu. They are very good at controlling, whether it’s the composition, lighting, or the blocking, and the performance, which created a visually stimulating atmosphere and also convey the weirdness of this film.
I've always felt that indoor scenes with less conflict are more visually demanding and more difficult. In such a scene, compared with the desert landscape shot, it’s easy to feel less powerful when delivering the characters and stories. However, T and Su Mu made this “Gastropod shell” to a perfect “Dojo”. When we see from the monitor, you can tell that the characters already lived in the environment they built, and the consist of weirdness and balancedness we want is just right. I was overwhelmed, as a creator, the skills are learned, but artistic sense is natural…
