Through the continuous torture of the sun and sand, finally, our important "character" Guadalupe has broken down.
Before filming, we named each picture car in our favorite drinks: Guadalupe, Martini, Tequila, and Sake. Yes, these name are so catchy that every car seems to have their souls.
Today's shooting environment is pretty tough. In one afternoon, all cars got stuck in the sand no less than three times. Thanks to the two big brothers who lived nearby, and saved our day by dragging them out of the sand. In the end, Guadalupe went on strike. We can’t turn in ignition and engine light is on. So the two big brothers Mike and Tony, drove their trailer again, took our baby all the way to the repair shop, and sent Producer Jera back to the base camp.
On the way back, Jera found out that one of the elder brothers had kidney cancer, and he already exceeded the number of years given by the doctor. Right now, he has to do dialysis every week. The other brother, who has bad knees. So now the two live together in order to take care of each other. After hearing this, I was suddenly speechless. In my heart, it has became far from being grateful for the help of strangers, it is in other words, being hit by the great vitality, the belief of human spirit.
After we completed this film, I really want to come back to this place and invite these two brothers, and invite people who have been helping us these days, come together and set a screening for them. I want to show them how grateful we are for their kindness, thanks for letting us meet such beautiful people who love life so much in such a difficult journey.
I wish the two brothers good health, and happiness!❤
